In 2020, despite the COVID-pandemic, the programme benefited over 90,000 people in the three programme countries.

2020 was the third year of ISF’s 2018-2021 development cooperation programme.

The development cooperation programme aims to improve three objectives: Women and men are empowered to prevent violence against women, local economies are economically and ecologically sustainable and people and communities are empowered as instigators of global change.

In 2020, despite of the COVID-pandemic, the programme was implemented mostly according to plans in all programme countries: Kenya, Somaliland, and Nicaragua.

Some activities were postponed or replaced with new activities to adapt to the pandemic and preventative measures. In most projects this did not significantly impact the expected outcomes and results.

The progmramme reached close to 15,000 direct beneficiaries, of which 60% were women. In total, it benefited over 90,000 people in the three programme countries.
